Grande Armée

The music

This work, of an important duration, gathers compositions for orchestra, piano solo, violin and snare drum, and a small touch of electronic music.

The main difficulty was to create a music underlying the speech, without diverting the attention of the spectator, and to provide the documentary with a real narrative dimension.

The movie

Saint-Cyr’s Military Special School (French military academy) was created en1802 by Napoleon Bonaparte, then First Consul, in order to provide the French army with the Officers which it needed. Two centuries later, the cadets of the establishment located in Coëtquidan (Brittany) ritually celebrate the battle of Austerlitz every year, and through it, the memory of the founding father of their school.
